To all X-Files fans out there: One of these days you will be able to see the official trailer debut of the second X-Files film in cinemas, strating June 13.
The Film titled The X-Files: I want to Believe is scheduled to be released in US theaters on July 25. During the recently concluded WonderCOn held in San Francisco last February 2008, the cast and crew was welcomed with cheers and roars from the audience as they were happy to see Mulder and Scully again, after 10 years.
Carter referred to the title as a "natural title", saying that it pertained to "a story that involves the difficulties in mediating faith and science. 'I Want to Believe.' It really does suggest Mulder's struggle with his faith." Carter also said that he and Spotnitz settled upon the title as soon as they started writing the screenplay. This title is a popular phrase among X-Files fans. It is featured on the poster above Mulder's desk.
Well, what's in store for us in this movie?
-In the movie, Carter promised us that we will see the relationship between Mulder and Scully "in a whole new way."
-Anderson and Duchovny both admitted to returning to the role "woefully unprepared." Said Duchovny: "It's a tricky, interesting challenge to return to a character with an entire body of work behind it." Anderson confessed that she had spent the past few years training herself out of Scully's mannerisms.
-This is for the atheists out there: When asked about the series' religious references, Carter responded that he had always thought of the show as "the search for God." No particular god, but still -- whammy!
